Chartio has an incredibly easy method for connecting to Rackspace Cloud Databases. You simply authenticate with your Rackspace API Key and select which database you'd like to connect. Connecting a database has never been easier. For detailed instructions continue reading.
Rackspace API Key
To connect your Rackspace Cloud Database to Chartio we simply need your Rackspace API key and username. Those can be accessed in your Rackspace Control Panel
To retrieve your Rackspace API key and username, log in to your rackspace account click the upper right most menu, which is labeled with your account name. In the menu click Settings & Contacts tab as shown below.
You'll be taken to the following page showing a hidden API key. Hit Show after the API Key and your API Key will be displayed for you. Copy this key (be careful to get just the text and not the space afterward), and take note of your username as you'll need them to authenticate with Chartio.
Now to connect, visit your Chartio Settings in the upper right of any Chartio window and click Add New Data Source. You will be taken to the following form to put in your username and API key, and specify the location of your database instances.
Chartio will retrieve a list of databases associated with your Cloud Tools account. Just choose the one you'd like to connect to this project and you're done.
In both steps, it'll take Chartio a few seconds to connect to your database and retrieve the necessary information.
To connect more than one Rackspace database to Chartio, simply go through this process again and select a new database from the drop down.
