Import data from an unsupported data source
Connecting to a data source that we do not already support or that can’t be done through one of our cloud data source partnerships, downloading the existing data as a CSV and uploading it to Chartio directly as a CSV or as a Google Sheet are the next options.
For more information on the data sources that Chartio supports, check out the full list of data sources that have direct connections to Chartio.
If your data source is not on this list, there are a few options for importing your data into Chartio.
We do try to add new data sources as often as we’re able to, so feel free to send us a feature request to support@chartio.com as well.
CSV data exports
Most services will let you export your data as a CSV file, which you can then upload to Chartio. As you get new data, you can append it to the existing CSV. This way, any connected charts will automatically update to include the new data. The upload process will need to be done manually.
More information about uploading CSVs to Chartio is available in our documentation.
You can also always turn those CSVs into google sheets and connect to Chartio. One of the main benefits of connecting via Google Sheets is that these connections are live and can be edited and amended. While connected to google sheets you can see changes added to the sheets reflected in those charts and tables that are connected in an almost real time manner. You may want to investigate ways to dump CSV data into a google sheet for analysis as well.
Automated service that exports to a database
Services like Zapier allow you to automate data insertion into a database, based on specific triggers. Check out Zapier’s website for a full list of supported apps.
Other services such as FiveTran will sync data and manage the database for you.
