Blueshyft is a technology company that runs a retail network as a service across 1200 locations in Australia. They are working to establish reliable physical locations for digital businesses.
As a growing startup, Blueshyft was losing valuable time because of an inefficient data request and sharing process. For every data request, Blueshyft developers would pull from their database, load data into a CSV, hack the CSV into a usable Excel spreadsheet and send it to their business teams. This process took hours out of the development team’s day, which they should have spent in building out the product.
The business side of Blueshyft was frustrated because they would often receive outdated reports, and were unable to focus their efforts on new business and onboarding customers.
Kain Warwick, Managing Director at Blueshyft, made the decision to end this taxing process.
“Blueshyft is the third startup that I’ve run. After my first two startups, I’ve learned that not investing in a Business Intelligence tool from the start is a massive false economy. If you invest in a tool too late, you’ll always play catch-up,” said Kain.
Based on Kain’s prior experience with Business Intelligence tools, he set out two requirements: the BI tool had to plug into all of Blueshyft’s data, and it had to be useable by every team member.
“Since all of our data was in MongoDB, I did research on a solution that could hook up with our database via moSQL. Through my research I found an article that explicitly outlined how easy it was to set up moSQL for Chartio. And within three days of reading that article, we were up and running on Chartio.”
Since implementing Chartio, Blueshyft no longer has to wait the multiple days it used to take to get back a data request.
Our business teams don’t have to beg for outdated and static data from an inundated development team anymore.

Through Chartio, everyone has access and power to explore data.
“In my past experience, I felt that in order to be successful with data analysis, you needed to know precisely what you were doing. You had to have a deep understanding of the process of data structures and so forth. With Chartio, it eliminates the need for any prior knowledge.”
Today, Chartio is used by all Blueshyft employees to analyze data across their CRM, accounting, shipping and equipment management systems-making Chartio their de-facto problem solving tool.
“We give everyone access to data and the information they need to be successful. Chartio makes it a lot easier to analyze and visualize everything that’s happening at Blueshyft, allowing us to make better data-backed decisions quickly.”
Once the business teams were given access to data, Chartio gave them the confidence to edit and transform their dashboards and allowed them to do their own data exploration.
“Chartio has been instrumental at Blueshyft. Every aspect of the business goes through Chartio–from logistics to sales to bookkeeping. The entire company looks at their Chartio dashboards daily.”
Because of Chartio, Blueshyft is now able to track and forecast recurring revenue through Chartio. Their Sales team can see which deals to focus on and which leads have the highest engagement in a single view.
Chartio has dramatically improved our process of managing our sales pipeline. Before Chartio, we were spending five hours a week managing the pipeline process, now it takes us less than an hour.

On the renewal side of the business, Account Managers now have confidence that they’re giving their clients accurate and timely reports, often much faster than what their clients can get from their own internal teams.
“Every critical area of the Blueshyft business is running on Chartio. Being able to run all our metrics company-wide on the platform is incredible.”
