New Visualizations FAQ

Our team is working hard to replace our current chart library with the open source Vega library. Updating to Vega will make it easier and faster for us to implement even more chart settings. You can check out our blog post about the new/improved features we’ve already implemented and what to expect down the road: A Deeper Look into Chartio’s Visualization Library - What’s New and What’s Improved. This FAQ covers questions you might have regarding our transition to Vega.

Q: What will happen to existing charts?

For now, nothing.

Q: Can I revert back to the old visualizations?

While our two chart libraries co-exist, you can switch between the old and new chart library by clicking the Legacy charts toggle.

Is there something our new visualizations don’t offer that our previous ones did? Feel free to reach out to productfeedback@chartio.com to share your feedback—we’d love to hear it!

Q: Why don’t I see the “Legacy charts” toggle?

If you joined Chartio after November 17, 2020, you’ll only have access to our new chart library.

Q: Are you adding more chart settings?

Absolutely! Our new chart library will allow our team to quickly implement new chart features that we know you’ve all been waiting for.

That being said, we’ve already added some new settings, so definitely check out our Vega chart settings pages to see what’s new!

Q: When will all charts convert to using the new chart library?

There’s no exact date just yet, but we’ll be sure to send a heads up before we convert anything.
